I have this mobo BE6 from Abit, the bios is from 08/24/1999 - version MU, and I want to flash with latest version.

But every time I flash I get this line in awd-program: 'the program file's part number does not match with your system'....and the bios isn't updated.

What do I do wrong? and - what have I to do right? Is it better to use Uniflash? (I hardly daring use it, because I made (!!) a bad flash on a MSI-mobo with the right bios-version.)

Kindly regards

If you're 100% sure it's the right BIOS/board, then flash using the /py parameter.

OK...in which way will parameter 'py' be useful? ?

Latest version is TH.
For BE6 use awdflash823.exe:
http://file.abit.com.tw/pub/download/fa ... ash823.exe

You can use these parameters:

awdflash823 be6_th.bin /py /sy /r

/py = Program flash memory
/sy = backup original BIOS to disk file
/r = Reset system automatically afte flashing

Thnx...When I tried a(s described in my first topic) I used 823-version + TH-version. Only 1 thing was different compared to your suggest: I didn't have the bin-version of the 'TH'-bios, I had the Abit-version, who is an 'exe-'file..

(So how am I going to dl from your supportbios-site? no action takes place when cursor is placed on icon..)

(Another thing: when I write 'awdflash823' in dos-mode the program starts, and it dont seems that the parameters take action.
The awd-exefile is showed in dos as 'awdfla~1'.)

(..sigh..yeah - there is a lot of things that i dknow too little about...).. :?

You need to decompress be6th.exe first in your hard disk.
Copy BE6_TH.BIN then to your floppy.

Yes - you were rigth! the exefile is a 'compressed' file....

And that could be the reason, that my former flashing a MSI-board went wrong: i didnt know that the 'exe'file was compressed files.

Explanation: my winxp shows the file as a program-file, not a compressed one...damn - i have to learn....

So one more time: thnx for your help, it was really useful!
