Could really be a HDD failure...

The BIOS is recent enough to support HDDs of 64GB.

Support for large HDDs has been verified with our patching utility:

***********************************************************
BIOS ID string: 03/10/2000-693-596B-977-2A6LGP8EC-00
BIOS OEM string: 03/10/2000 DVABX FOR 6VAX2/DVAX(2)/DVBX(2) (Y2K READY)
BIOS already supports HDDs over 32GB & 64GB - Nothing to do!
***********************************************************

So it should be working ok as it is.

I bought a PCI Controller Card, and it works.

I think we have got troubles with the IRQ's in the bios, because we want to install W2k!

Special thanks to you
