use floppy boot for xp install, old laptops not booting automatically

you can check bios settings , try change boot options in bios if it's possible

you can use start up floppy from win98 to start cd,

or use ultimative boot disk

the easy way is to use 6 floppy disks for you version of xp, home or pro

and fallow instructions
