How does phlash and crisis recovery disk work?

I have a question - how does the phlash on crisis recovery disk work?

Does the bios.wph have to be a wph file? Does it have to have a wph structure? If i rename readme.txt (or a bios file of a different format) to bios.wph would it be blindly loaded to flash?

Hello!
I have PCI IDE controller card based on IT8121F chip. Card has also STT39SF010 flash chip on it so i think it should be reprogrammable... Here is my problem: I have tried to change RAID bios to ATAPI bios using ITEFLASH version 2.02. Program is freezing when making backup. It makes zero sized file on disk and progress bar is not moving.

I downloaded Uniflash 1.40 and used it with -pcirom option. Program finds ...

AMI or AWARD? Contradictory information

Hi, first time here, and I've never flashed a BIOS before.

After long adventures blaming everything from HDD to next door's cat I now know I have an out of date BIOS and possibly even the wrong BIOS.

Trouble is... what have I got?

This is a 9 yr old Tiny. Stamped on the mainboard is MS6178 ver 1.1. I can't find that ver 1.1 anywhere.

ID string is 63-10b1-001169-00101111-071595-WHITNEY-1WHITNEY-H

I've ben looking in lots ...

How to Update BIOS on Mitac 8050

I have an old Evesham X5 (badge engineered Mitac 8050D). There have been a number of occassions when it has crashed and teh Windowsfault report response indicates that the BIOS is incompatable with the CPU/Chipset.

I have located the latest BIOS, both System and KBC (what is this?), on the Mitac support site. A Flashit Utility is included with the System BIOS but I can find no info on how to use this. I assume ...
