I have a notebook HP Pavilion dv6-6118sl (QC779EA) with Intel Core 5 2410M and AMD Radeon HD 6490M graphics card (1 GB GDDR5 dedicated). Its BIOS is a InsydeH20 Setup Utility Rev 3.5.

Unfortunately, the diagnostic hidden partition no longer exists.

So, now, how do I update the BIOS?

I need to extract a live version of my BIOS to compare with a version taken from a BIOS programmer for the same chip ...

I need to prove that the machine changes values within the BIOS code once the machine is running and comunicating with other hardware...

Does anyone know of an academic article / journal that would support this theory?

Got an old HP DC5800 Microtower from work for personal use.
As i got it, all worked fine but the bios was several years old and i thought about a new version. After updating the Bios from 1.53 to 1.59 the bios doesn't found the harddrive and the optical drive.
Tested downgrading and it doesn't worked (HP Support also told me to downgrade). Problem is that they implemented in 1.59 a "downgrade check", ...

I need to integrate bios of pci controller VT6421A into bios of my motherboard ASROCK Conroe1333-DVI/H.

When i try with MMTOOL V3.12 i receive an error "Error !! ROM space isn't enought. It exceeded 4D84h Bytes."

I have an intel willow springs 2 mobo.Its from a gateway desktop computer so it has gateways bios logo.I have been trying to remove/replace the logo for almost a year now.I have dumped the bios chip but cant seem to get any AMI tool to edit it.The only tool that seems to recognize it is amideco.I was able to extract the contents with amideco aswell.Here is a screen shot i took.

Is it possible to add sata staggered spinup support to a BIOS by decompiling and switching some options, or do you have to write additional code?

I have found a hardware solution for what I want, but space is tight and I prefer a software solution.

I am having problems in executing one specific Option ROM on a UEFI based Asrock z68 Pro3 motherboard.
When installed one IT8212F based RAID controller prevents the whole system from booting. The same RAID controller works fine on every other (non-UEFI) motherboard that I tried. I would like to know what the motherboard is in my Dell Dimension 8300 so I can find out what the jumpers do. The computer works perfectly and is in excellent condition so anything it came from the factory with it still has.
