Upgrade AMD-K6 233MHz to AMD K6-3 400+MHz ? - Advice req.

Hello (again) friends. :)

I want to upgrade my CPU without changing mobo.

I want to replace my AMD K6 233MHz to a faster AMD K6-3 450MHz.
I don't know what's the maximum CPU speed I could get away with, considering my mobo is a few years behind, but I read that 400 or 450MHz is not impossible.

I just need some hand holding...

Specs:

Mobo Mfg ...

Acer V30 BIOS ugrade to run 133MHz

Is there an upgaded or compatible BIOS for the Acer V30 mainboard?

ACR9AE00-I05-950323-R01-I0

According to Acer, the SOCKET-5 with an Intel Pentium 133MHz CPU must upgrade the BIOS with

V2.0R01-N9

The web page they direct you to to obtain the upgrade no longer exsists.
I noticed that the Acer V30-II version is ....R01-N7. I'm willing to even try it if its possible to obtain.

Abit KT7a-Raid motherboard and AMD XP 1800 CPU

I have just put together this abit KT7a with an AMD XP 1800 processor and when I boot up, I get checksum error, so, I go to the bios, do nothing (except save and exit), but upon exit the system will not boot at all.

I've tried flashing the bios to a version that (per Abit) is specifically meant to support the xp 1600 thru 1900, but I get the same result.

It almost seems ...

PLEASE HELP WITH MOTHERBOARD

Hello, My motherboard is the Biostar M7VKB. I dont know the maximum DURON processor speed... and I really need to. I checked the official biostar website www.biostar-usa.com and it told me two different things. One table told me that the max DURON speed was 950 MHZ. When I clicked on the link and it took me to the official web site for that motherboard it told me that the ...

AOpen AP53 and k6-2, just wondering

The board lists 2.5v with 1 jumper on 5-6. If I remove all jumpers might I get lower, as in around 2.0-2.4v? If I could get it a smidge lower I might be able to run a k6-2 processor. Also is there a newer bios than June 1997?

If there are any good sites with this board besides Aopen itself please share.

Thank You
Ryan

cache conflict

Hi I have a pcchips m575 mobo with a K6 233 mmx cpu, but it will not
boot with the cache turned on in the bios unless I switch the clock to
133 Mhz. It has the latest bios update, I wouldn't even have upgraded
but the original was corrupted somehow and I had to use boot block.
BTW I am using 72 pin simms, the friend that had it before had dimms, I
don't ...
