Don't ask how to over-clock.

Can't get Athlon MP 1800+ working right on K7S5A.

On my PC-Chips 830LR, flashed with CheepoMan's modded final release of the ECS K7S5A (non-Pro) BIOS, it will not POST with the FSB/RAM set to 133/133 with an Athlon MP 1800+.

An Athlon MP 1600+ works just fine at that setting, it doesn't POST if the FSB/RAM are *not* the same frequency.

When I swapped CPUs, the setting switched itself to 100/100. I don't know why when the only difference between these two Palomino core ...

No AMD virtualization menu on award bios

Hello,
I've got Acer Aspire L5100, with AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ (AM2 socket). One of it's features is AMD-V (virtualization hardware support).

My operating system (linux, kernel 2.6.27-9) perfectly recognizes the cpu and it's capabilities but when I try to actually activate the virtualization support it fails, saying "Disabled by BIOS". I checked all BIOS menus and there is no such option.
The BIOS is AwardBios, version R01-B0. "System version:" 6.00. ...

E5200 support

HI
I have Asus P5PL2-E motherboard based on i945G chipset :
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=11&l3=194&model=1478&modelmenu=2
and I use this AMI Bios file :
http://dlsvr04.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/socket775/P5PL2-E/P5PL2-E-ASUS-1002.zip
I like to make support for 45nm cpu E5200 and I don't know how to do it.
On asus forum they have told me that it is not supported because motherboard VRD is version 11.0 and it should be 11.1.
BUT I think they don't like to make support for it because I have ...

Intel D945GCZ + Conroe-L??

I have managed to find a website which pin mods the Conroe-L (LGA775, Celeron 400 Series CPU) to power it up.

I have also done some research and grabbed microcode files for those CPUs. (CPUID 10661h) and I understands that Intel D945GCZ uses EFI format AMI bios.

Is it possible to inject the microcode for Conroe/L into this EFI formatted BIOS? Please shed a light on the names of possible websites and/or tools that can ...

This is the message that I am getting on my Dell GX280 mini tower. I had my motherboard go out and replaced it with another with the same part #. The new board will run with a 2.8 G CPU but not with the original 3.6 G CPU. I have tried everything that I can think of and it is still not working.
