News of Notebook BIOS and other problems

I am looking for a new Chicony MP-995 (notebook) BIOS. The one I have now (1.17) doesn't seem to support ACPI couse Win2k won't shutdown and WinXP won't install at all.

Ok last week i bought this somewhat older notebook and when I finally got a chance to try it out I find out there is a Bios startup and setup password. Is there anyway I can get to the CMOS battery or someway to clear the CMOS or have I bought a new tacky paperweight????? Help please

Firstly this machine is very old, worth very little, was given to me and I'm trying to get it to work - just for fun!

I'm stuck because as it boots it checks the memory and then a key appears on the screen. Presumably a BIOS password, which I don't know. Is there any way around this?

If I had a manual I could open it up and clear the CMOS by removing the battery, ...

I have a NEC versa premium(7521N) notebook.The chipset is sis630s with sis300 vedio card intergrated which shared 8Mb system memory.I want to upgrade it to 16 or 32Mb.But there is not related function in BIOS.So how to add the third party vedio BIOS part which can work into my notebook's BIOS? An ex employee has put a HDD lock on one of our ThinkPads, he says he forgets (won't tell us) the p/w, we think if we low level format the drive it will fix our dilema but we need to know how to get over the boot problem asking for the p/w, is there a key sequence to boot straight from floppy? the current boot sequence is FDD-CD-HDD and we don't care about data because ...

I have a Texas Instruments travelmate 4000m laptop with a PhoenixBios and I don't know the key comand to get into the Bios during start-up. Any suggestions?
