APM/ACPI BIOS questions

Need APM information - need legacy bios help

Hi -
I am looking for someone that is intimate with the antiquated 'Advance Power Management'
spec for power management prior to ACPI. I have a need to patch my current bios (a '98
vintage Tek Logic Analyzer) that when upgraded from Win98 to Win2000, the Power button
no longer automatically shuts down the computer. When I upgraded to Win2000, I also could
not force a power off of the computer when performing a 'START/SHUTDOWN' ...

Looking for bios version 1206 for M6VBE-A

Hi !
I have a Biostar M6VBE-A ver 1.1 (693A/596B).
I use it to run FreeNas (based on FreeBSD). The board ran correctly under version 1206 (from 12th June 1999) but I wanted support for dirives larger than 32GB.
Therefore, I installed, in succesion the following 2 firmware versions: 0407a (29th Nov. 1999) and 0727a (27th July 2000). Both upgrades went without errors and I can see larger drives now (80GB) but both introduced a ...

HP Pavillion ZT1175 gets BSOD x000000a5

This appears to be an ACPI compatability error. I am running M0102 level and will try flashing to M0105 but I doubt there is a fix. This bios is made by: Insyde Software Corp - never head of them myself. What do you think the chances of a patch to this to get Vista or Win7 ACPI able ?

Possible ACPI problem TONGFANG netbook - AMI

I purchased a TONGFANG netbook from China with the model number CMT-101A.
It has a intel Atom processor and a GMA950 chip, similar to an MSI Wind, mostly Realtek components for the rest.

I am trying to install OS X, which goed flawlessly on the Wind, but fails on this one with a 4096 buffer error.
It seems to be related to ACPI trouble in BIOS.
I have no stock Bios file to mod so ...

Resume After Powerfailure Mod

Experts,

I maintain a small number of servers running on PCChips Mother boards. Current BIOS is:

091505-SiS760-M871G-Y2KC

The mother boards are M871G v1.5.

Under the bios options there is no option for automatically powering on after a power failure. The servers are attached to Smart UPS's and will gracefully power down before the UPS batteries drain completely. I would like them to power up after ac power is restored. Is there something I am missing? ...

Tyan S2932-E suspend to ram fails to resume

When I suspend my system (from Linux 2.6.27-rc1), it turns off and then fails to resume.

When I press the power button, the port 80 display shows:
FF D0 23 01 D0 ... DE
(and again each time I press reset)

If I force it to turn off, then on again:
FF D0 23 01 D0 ... FF D0 23 01 D0 ... (D2?) D3 00 01 D5 D6 <normal boot>

The BIOS image is ...

HELP WITH ASUS A8V-E Deluxe

I recently downloaded the latest ASUS BIOS update for my motherboard, even though I did not need it. Now, whenever I go into my BIOS, I can no longer change my CPU voltage. I have overclocked my AMD 3000+ to 2.403 GHz, and I require at least 1.6 volts. Are there any suggestions as to what I should do to be able to adjust my voltage???
