News of RAM compatibility with BIOS

I have a P5VX-BE Rev:3.0 motherboard wich supposedly supports up to 256MB RAM. BIOS is Ver 1.4a from 05/12/97.

I upgraded 4 16meg SIMMs to a 128meg PC100 DIMM. On boot it recognizes only 32MB :?:

Any idea how can this be corrected? I saw a version 1.4h of BIOS, do you think flashing it might help?

and the bios oem signon: 6VA693AM(S)-F3

The system only recognize 256 mb.

Why?

Just got meself a new 256 mb dimm module for my chaintech 6btm. Motherboard booklet says 256 mb dimm compatability can not be guaranteed. Friends say I need a new bios, but I cannot find a more recent one than I've got (not on the chaintech site). Maybe somebody got a new or an alternative one somewhere or knows a solution?

Hi, I tryed to upgrade my computer from 64 MB to 64MB + 256MB. But my 256MB DIMM calculated as 128 MB RAM. Last updated BIOS version is :
08/24/1999-692-596-W977-2A6LGL1AC-00.

It was upgraded from http://www.lucky-star.com.tw but for LS6VABX2 VER 1.0. BIOS for Ver 2.0 did not accepted by awdflash.exe.

I Have a PC Chips M571 motherboard AMI BIOS v1.xx (dated 1998). It has 32MB SDRAM DIMM, don't know the clock speed.

I have just bought a 128MB SDRAM DIMM PC133.

At boot it counts up to 160MB then hangs.

Will a BIOS upgrade cure this problem?
