Unified SiS XP/2K 32bit driver

This is my attempt to create a unified UVGA driver package for all SiS integrated chipsets. The package is based on the logo'd SiS UVGA 3.91 driver. All binary files are left unchanged. Only the device IDs in the installation file were adjusted. It installs on every SiS chipset with integrated VGA and standalone cards from the following families :
- SIS 65x
- SIS 74x
- SIS 67x
- SIS 76x
- SiS 315 ...

How to connect devices to the IDE/ATA bus

What is this thing called bus?
When connecting drives to a bus like IDE/ATA some basic rules have to be taken into consideration. Bus means that there is one cable with many connectors on which the devices sit. The typical IDE/ATA controller has two identical independant busses which are called primary and secondary. For each of them the same rules apply. SATA is not a bus as there is a point to point connection from ...

How to > HP BIOS MiniPCI Fix- nc6000/others

First and foremost, I would like to credit all the knowledge to Rich_at_richud_dot_com for his research and work. Please see his credits as well.

HOWTO replace integrated chipsets' video bios

This mini-HOWTO shows how to replace a video bios that is embedded within the mainboard's bios.

Introduction:
While PCI/AGP/PCI-E VGA cards use their own bios apart from the mainboard's bios, embedded video bioses can be found on all mainboards that use integrated chipsets like those from Intel, VIA, SIS, ALi and NVidia. Their mainboard's bios needs an additional module to enable the vga capabilities: the video bios. As on every vga card updated video bioses ...

HDD above 128/137 GB, general Information

First the bad news: We can't patch/update Bios for native support of HDD over 128/137GB.

But the good news: If your Bios won't provide 48 Bit LBA support for drives above 128/137GB then you have additional options:

W2K SP4, WinXP SP1, Linux
You won't need native Bios support if you have Windows2000 SP4, Windows XP SP1 or Linux with a somewhat recent kernel (2.4.18 upwards). Install your OS into a partition within Bios limits and ...

This information applies for the following models...
