News of Video (VGA) and other BIOS/Firmware

i just wanted to flash back the ls17.bin to my cdrw (formerly 0841)..
flash process
(winXP, winME bootdisk: pure dos using original ls17.bin
with pflash,etc. found on cdrinfo)
looked fine, but the counter went to 0 and showed some weird message.
tried flashing again, the flash app showed:
try to recover the drive with atapi soft reset
the status port is 0xff80 or something four times.
AFTER THAT: error in atapi command
inquiry + atapisoftreset ...

ATi doesn't provide updates to end users, and vendors/resellers don't provide updates either.

My bio's version is V4.51PG and my video card is on my motherboard.Need to do this cause i installed a gforce2 pci card.My motherboard serial number is 02/03/1999-i440ZX-W83977-2A69KB3KC-00 .The chipset is Intel 440BX/DX/ZX chipset, and the maker is BCM.Any help on this would be greatly appreciated cause im geting booted playing EQ. :cry:

I got infected by the new worm and decided to format and partition hard drive. After I was done WIN 98 PNP would only load standard PCI VGA adapter driver and didn't see voodoo card in agp slot. Am I missing something simple or do I have a Motherboard/bios problem

I have a Compaq Presario. OS Windows XP. I have "accidentally" changed my BIOS whereas now when I reboot, the monitor stays in standby (or off) mode until windows loads thus I am unable to enter BIOS settings. I believe the setting that I changed was "enable VGA". I have searched for several hours to no avail using google and other search engines. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have a AHA2940 with OEM BIOS 1.10 here. Oficcial BIOS 1.16 and 1.23 wont working, because the BIOS is dongle with Controller and OEM Controller have a diffrent Vendor ID. The Vendor ID is not in serial EEPROM it's direct in SCSI-Controller Chip :(
