I'm upgrading this system from a 6GB to 40GB disk. The system halts at startup at "<F2> for setup...". I guess it needs a bios upgrade. But I cant find a suitable upgrade anywhere. can anybody help?

Did you already try to clone the new disk from the old disk in a desktop computer using 3.5"/2.5" IDE Adapter? For example Symantec Ghost program.

Did you then put the cloned disk in? Does the Bios detect it?

thought of that but I will not have access to a desktop computer for a couple of months. I'd need to buy the adapter too.
