Hi I have a pcchips m575 mobo with a K6 233 mmx cpu, but it will not
boot with the cache turned on in the bios unless I switch the clock to
133 Mhz. It has the latest bios update, I wouldn't even have upgraded
but the original was corrupted somehow and I had to use boot block.
BTW I am using 72 pin simms, the friend that had it before had dimms, I
don't know if that would cause any conflict or not.

Thanks

Dale {:-)

Which cache? Internal (L1) or external (L2)?
Do try some other SIMMs...

Both the L1 And L2 must be turned off which as you can imagine makes it run like a 386:(
It runs adaquatly fast on 133. I will try dimms soon if the price goes down.

Thanks for your help

Dale

The AMD K6/233.
Hmm, wasn't that the one, which needed the Vcore of 3.2V?
Check the printings on top of the CPU and make sure, CPU Setup in the Bios matches, what is printed there.
If you have a 3.2V chip there, You will need a very good Heatsink/Fan combo. Also use thermal grease.

Don't hold your breath.
