Hey bmnaidum, what I did was took an extra printer cable I had and cut off the end that goes into the printer port. Make sure you leave about 4 inches of wire after the connector so it is easier to connect the wires together. You will need a small flat head screwdriver to pry open the casing around the metal connector. The diagram in the service manual is showing you the cable as if you were looking at the silver pins of the cable. Now when you look at it from the back of the connector with all the wires hanging out you will need to reverse everything in the diagram. Pin 1 will be on the right side when looking at the connector from the back. Then strip off the insulation on the ends of the wires you need to connect together and twist them together. Now plug in the connector and before turning on the computer make sure all the wires are not touching any other wires they shouldn't be touching. Now turn on the computer and hopefully it will start trying to read the floppy drive. Good Luck.
