I have to hold on the on/off button for five seconds to shut down, then the computer restarts and I can then shut down after the RAM check is finished. Anyone got the cure for this?? I have the latest BIOS upgrade and this makes no difference.

Check for "Immediate off/shut down after 4 second" setting in your bios. Set to "immediate off", save setting & exit. Now when you hit the power button it will shut down at once.
