Update for 07/18/2000 694X-686A-6A6LJ I3BC-00 (Iwill?)?

Installing Windows XP hangs in the middle of Driver installation. I suspect an out-of-date BIOS (v6.00PG on Setup Page).

Wim'sBIOS reports 6A6LJ as VIA 694X/686A (Apollo Pro 133A), but nothing with the 7/18/00 date and I3BC code is in the table, probably because the manufacturer is Iwill and they have gone out of business.

The Iwill CD says it's for VD133PL. Is there an update for this BIOS which will allow XP to be installed?

This is weird.

10/20/2000-694X-686A-6A6LJI39C-00
VD133Pro/34231A (Oct.20.2000)

Can you please check if you can find that 34231A marking somewhere?

Looks like I've archived the entire I-will sight in April 2006, or so I've written
on the DVD backup of it...

Here's the download of the latest released bios..
I have the manual too if you want it... let me know..!

Just opened it up to confirm it was the right one before posting...
Whilst yours is 34234B, this one's 34234A, yet it's in the VD133PL folder,
as downloaded from the I-Will FTP...

Thanks, KenH, for your prompt reply. I have downloaded the BIOS file from RapidShare, but I am not familiar with these sites. The file has extension .rar, which I don't have an application to open. How do I do it?

I would like to get the manual you are offering, as well as the Award BIOS Flash Utility Download and the How to use it PDF. My BIOS flashing has been restricted to straighforward updates of Dell machines. I can't figure out how to get this stuff from ImageShack.

I mistakenly concealed my email address - < removed >
I think I have fixed this.

Edit - Removed e-mail address. KW

I was just about to send you the updated bios again, when I thought I
should have another look at it with another bios editor, just to be safe...
& whilst it's similar to yours, eg:34234A instead of 34234B, I might
hang off using it just yet...
I'd wait a bit & see what others here have to say 1st...
The string in the VD133PL bios update is almost the same as the one edwin
posted above,
Code: Select all
Award Modular BIOS v6.00PG
10/20/2000-694X-686A-6A6LJI39C-00
VD133PL/34234A (Oct.20.2000)
6A6LJI39
