Bios Update

I have a HP Pavillion desktop-Model a1220n.
How do I update my Bios?
My Standby goes on after 1 minute.
My Hibernate goes on after a few hours,will Bios update correct these 2 problems?
I tried everything in the Power Options,in control panel.
Where do I get update software?
XP-Home OS
