My Bios?

Postby unknown1 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 1:18 am

HI, I'm new here. I have this type of Bios http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?soid=1764392&moid=1277450&rpn=PLUA0U&BV_SessionID=@@@@1528921951.1222642648@@@@&BV_EngineID=ccccadeffildhdkcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0&ct=DL&all_docs=falseand I can't identify which type of Bios it's- AMI, Award or phoenix. Also, can someone recommend me a program to open it? Thanks

It's a Toshiba bios and they have customized it quite a bit so it's not a matter of simply opening it. What do you want to achieve?

I really want to be able to open it. I just want to explore, and maybe if I can add new micro code to support newer processor.

There's a reason for limited CPU support, it's called hardware limits. It may be the core voltage or the maximum amount of heat that can be dissipated by the casing of the laptop. Maybe http://www.esupport.com can do something for you but I sincerely doubt it.

Thank you for answering my questions :D . So, based on your answer, there is no program available for us to just open up my Bios file?

I sincerely doubt there's something publicly available. I suppose Toshiba R&D deprtment has one.
