[SOLVED] Can't Update AMI BIOS

Postby Rayquaza » Mon Jan 19, 2009 12:41 pm

Hi to all,

I tried to update my AMI BIOS, but it can't. Got error saying "Chipset/Flash part isn't available. The function will be invalid"

How can I resolve this error? I need to update my M748LMRT BIOS to the latest one (13 February 2001)

Thanks in advance

Go to http://www.bootdisk.com and download the drflash bootable floppy extractor, put in empty floppy in system, execute the file so you get a bootable dos floppy. now copy both the flashing utility and th bios file to the floppy. Boot from that floppy and flash the bios.

Flash prog is very old. Please try the commandline flashprogs Aminf329 or newer
http://k7jo.de/tools/ami/flasher/aminf329.exe
http://k7jo.de/tools/ami/flasher/aminf332.exe

Usage: Aminf329 newbios.rom (change to your filename + extension) - system will auto-reboot and may autoclear CMOS
