flash with another model bios

I just bought a MSI 945GCM7-F V2 motherboard and was very disappointed to find that it ignores the BSEL pin mod on my e2180. I read somewhere where this mod works fine on the nearly identical 945GCM5-F V2 (note the 5 instead of 7). So, I flashed my board with the 5's bios. I was very relieved when it posted and the mod was recognized. The computer will work perfectly until the first reboot (or power off). Then it will not post again until the CMOS is cleared.

I would like to know if there is something I can do to fix this, or if I just have to go back to the stock bios. Is there some switch in the flasher program that will remedy this? Its AMI bios, if that matters.

Thanks
