ACER BATTERY PROBLEM

I have an acer travelmate 250
battery part BTP-58A1 4000AMH

i have replaced the battery with the same part number but its 4800amh
It wont recognize the battery or charge it.
When i put the old one in it recognizes the old one no problem........
somebody said i need a bios upgrade.

i had the laptop into comp shop and he checked all the settings and could not find the cause .....help please!!!

so it is not the same part number, that is impossible. maybe your battery charger is only suitable for the 4000mAh model, seen that with certain Dell laptops where they have a 65W and a 95W charger. The 65W charger doesn't work with the larger batteries they have.
