Update Boot image on Pheonix 4.0 R6.1 / Acer Notebook

Postby pepe123 » Sun Oct 04, 2009 3:57 pm

Hello,

I'd like to update the boot image on my acer aspire 5050. The original bios (Phoenix 4.0 release 6.1) can be found here: ftp__work__acer-euro__com__notebook__aspire_5050__bios__3315.ZIP (substitute __ with . and / respectively). This is a 1MB bios. I've already modded the slic and the dsdt tables. Everything works perfect after reflash.

I tried the bmp2pgx and bmp2epa, also the Borg Number One bios collection but I can't find the original Image in the bios file. Phoenix Bios Editor (2213) doesn't like this bios and shows Romexec not found. Once I used an older version of PBE and it showed me that the boot logo is in there.

After decomposing the bios I have logo00.rom and logo01.rom but I can't work with them.

Any ideas how to do this?
