Phoenix bios upgrade

Postby greenmachine » Sun Oct 25, 2009 10:07 pm

Can someone give me some guidance please? I have an Emachines 420 with Imperial Motherboard IM845GV running Phoenix 6.0 bios 2/Oct2003. Intel 2560 rev 3 Chipset.

I think I need a bios upgrade but don't know how to go about it. PC bleeps on startup and refused to boot a few times recently.

Please can anyone give me some advice (apart from buy a new PC!)

Thanks

If your board boot sometimes, fail sometimes, it may not the BIOS problem. Usually if the BIOS wrong, it will constantly wrong and your will see a stable problem.

You should be able to get the BIOS from emachine, I guess.

check the board for bad capacitors and above all replace the POS Bestec power supply before it kills your board completely.
