[Question] Need Help Flashing Phoenix BIOS with new VBIOS

Postby Espionage724 » Sat Nov 07, 2009 9:50 pm

Acer TravelMate 2480
BIOS: ZR1: v1.3508 3E08
BIOS Type: Phoenix
Graphics Card: Intel 945GM (950GMA)
VBIOS: 1313
Desired VBIOS: 1585

I downloaded Intel's graphics drivers for the 945 and it came with a vbios pack. This pack included:

cal_1585.bsf
cal_1585.dat
cal_1585.exe

From what I heard, the .exe can only be used under a non-NT OS like Windows 98 and this only temporarily loads the VBIOS.

I want to combine Intel's VBIOS with my Acer VBIOS. Help?

same question as here i suppose.

cal_1585.dat

this is the vbios. rename it to whatever you want. open a working phoenix bios editor, load your bios, replace the video bios with the one from the archive, save and flash the patched bios. done :)

Yea i just figured out I could do that myself like an hour ago. I did it successfully, the OS loaded and everything, just 1 small problem.
My resolution is crap. It's stuck at 1024x768 max. Even at the BIOS screen my screen is restricted to that resolution and its not stretched.

what's the native resolution of the display? screen stretching is a hardware feature and can usually be enabled with special function keys on laptops.
