How can i tell which type of motherboard will work with my current power outlet? I want to get a new motherboard for my eMachine model number "T2742" what types of motherboards are compatible with my computer?

These models come with a Bestec power supply that should be replaced as soon as possible, they kill motherboards and other components.

You can fit any micro-ATX board. But you need to replace the processor/memory and probably video card (or buy motherboard with onboard video). You will need to reinstall windows as well, so if you still have a running machine, backup your data now.
