Hello,

We have a old IBM ThinkPad 770X that has 64meg onboard and running XP Sp2. I looked for information on adding more memory and found that I could have a total of 320meg. So I purchased 2 - 128MB SODIMM for IBM Thinkpad 770 Series machine. I installed these two, and updated the Bios to IIET42WW 2001/10/12. When I go into the bios is shows the total as 320 but only uses the 64Meg.

I can't located anything on the web to help me out with this.

Does anyone know what's up??

Thanks for your time and suggestions

64MB is the video memory and that is the maximum it will use of the 320MB. The other 256MB is used for the operating system. You cannot reserve more.
