What are the signs of a motherboard about to crash? I have a powerbook G4 and it is only 2 yrs old, but i use it often. I have never had any problems with it, but sometimes the screen flickers from time to time, but there are no real operational problems.

That is not the motherboard but the connection between the board and your screen that may be troublesome. Not sure how your warranty is but you may want to contact the Apple service center about this.
