can't find a bios upgrade for a luckytech motherboard

Postby fonzarelli » Wed Apr 03, 2002 1:30 pm

hello,

I have a luckytech motherboard
model P6BX2
rev 1.4

I'm looking for the latest bios release.
But the link on their site is dead:
http://www.hyweb.com.tw/gallery/profoli ... /BX2-C.bin
and I can't find it anywhere else.

Anyone can help me??

BX2-C.BIN seems to be the correct update for the V1.4 motherboard.
Its BIOS string is:
03/03/1999-I440BX-W977TF-2A69KSH9C-00
INTEL 440BX2 REV:C

You can download it from: http://www.wimsbios.com/~ajzchips/download/

THE BIOS STRING SHOULD BE EXACT---NO VERIFICATION AT ALL
MAY BE AN MA MOTHERBOARD--THEN HAVE DOOR STOP

That's why I want the original poster to reply with the current bios string.

Too early for hotflash stuff today.

I have downloaded awd812.exe, the latest award flash utility.
I boot from a Dos floppy
and then : awdflash bx2-c.bin
and then .... nothing
it keeps saying me "backing up bios to file" for ages....

So I have reset it and there's still the old bios....

Why doesn't it work??

Try an older version of the flasher. Make sure the *.bin file doesn't have the read-only attribute enabled.

2 suggestions:
a) Activate the DMA checkbox for your DVD in Windows' Device Manager.
b) Update your DVD reader's firmware: http://www.firmware.fr.st

the DMA is activated and the firmware is the latest.
They have never heard about this problem @ the shop where I bought the DVD drive...
