Need to clarify jumper settings

I have a Micronics Twister AT-03 mobo that I wish to flash the BIOS. According to the mobo manual, there is a three pin jumper setting to flash the system BIOS (JP2). Settings 1-2 is Reserved, while 2-3 is Normal (default). Exactly what does this mean, as opposed to flashing the BIOS? I know it isn't for clearing the CMOS as that is jumper JP1. Is JP2 something I need to be concerned with in order to flash my BIOS? I certainly do not want to attempt to flash if this setting needs to be set a certain way... (oops, fried BIOS  ) Any and all information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

:D Denniss, thank you for your reply. I usually learn more about computers through trial-and-error, but in this case, an error would be very bad...
