AWARD bios update,, helpppp

I am trying to update my bios
this is what i know

award plug and play BIOS extension v1.0A

award modular BIOS v4.51PG
06/11/1999
i440BX-W83977-2A69KA1UC-LQ

Motherboard is ABIT BE6

I did download bios BE6TH and BE6LQ
When i try to update with one of thse bios updates i recieve an error, ,, this is not an AWARD bios,,,, or System was not new AWARD BIOS version, please update rom BIOS first

I want to update my bios because my pc is doing strange things, and in the device manager there is an error, no mass storage controler.
And i can not find drivers for this, so i tougt maybe it is my bios.
HD is western digital

Could someone please tell me if i have the right bios, or if i am doing it wrong.
I did use award flasher 5.00 and Award flasher78_1 on an boot disk.drdflash
OS is win. 2000

Do a full virus scan first.

I already did a full system scan. No virus.

I made a new installation, so my pc has only a clean windows installation and the problen is not solved.

Mass Storage Controller is the extra Highpont UDMA66 OnBoard IDE-Controller which needs drivers or disabling in Bios .

Try a newer Award Flash program
