i have a big problem which i need to solve it in a few hrs ....i can't go to the any company today ...& i need to solve it fast ASAP...
my problem is :
my friend get a viruse on his bios ... he format it with being ware of saveing his old bios file ....so ...the computer now giving error massege...
the situation is like this ....:
checksum error
i tried to use award flash for writing bios program ...but it keep giving me a messeg that the bios is writ protect ...& check the jumpers...i did that ...there is no writ protect jumber on the mainboard....
how can i solve that ...
or how can i unblock the writing protect ...i need that very badly ...cause i can't contact any one today ...& his business in urget situation....
please help me very fast

You could try the Uniflash flasher, free from http://www.pppr.sk/rainbow/programs.html#UniFlash - and check that the BIOS is not protected by a CMOS setting.

u mean i should try the uniflash to see if the cmos writ protected....it's giving me this messeg all the time ...i need to know how to take of the protection...cause the as i think the uniflash r mot going to work unlees i take the protection off...this is my real problem ...

I meant :
1. If you can get into the CMOS setup, is there a setting which prevents/allows the BIOS Flash ?
2. Some versions of some flash utilities get confused about the type of flash so try a different utility e.g. Uniflash.

Can you give us more information about the manufacturer and model of the motherboard ?

A long shot:
Is there any BIOS ID or OEM message ?
e.g. "02/23/1999-692-596-8671-2A6LGB09C-00" or "VBE0226B" ?
(I don't think there will be if you are working with the bootblock BIOS.)

the awdbios bin is iec 43
( i don't have the saved bin file ...but i still have the hard as a slave for another computer )

what more info u need ....

please help me ...i'm lost ...i have only 12hr before the dead line .....
( today is a hollyday here ...no one will respond me ....& i have a fair tomorrow & i need that computer back alive ....please ....please be faster ....)

Can you get into the CMOS setup ?
Did you try Uniflash, or a different version of AWD flasher ?

I have to travel home now, I will log on later to see how you are getting on. I cannot download from the FIC site at the moment.

i did it ...i get the computer back alive...
the uniflash....it's a magice.....
there was a problem in the first ....cause i didn't know what ( saved bios file i should use ) but when i found it ...i but it on the bootable disk with the uniflash program ...& it works...the uniflash pass the writ protection ...& restore the bios back alive ....
