i recently updated my bios to the following:

BIOS manufacturer: Award Modular BIOS v4.51PG
BIOS ID: 03/31/1999-ALADDIN5-2A5KKB0FC-00
OEM Signon: ALC0331B
Chipset: ALi M1541 rev 4

Could anyone tell me if my bios is windows XP compatible, or if there is a newer bios version out? thanks

I think your board is a Biostar M5ALC. From this link it would appear that you have the latest BIOS for a 128KB chip. I wouldn't recommend running Windows XP, unless you've maxed out the CPU/RAM for this Super Socket 7 oldie. :(
