Need help to indentify this motherboard....

I have been asked to install windows XP Home Edition on a machine. But after installation of XP the computer does not want do do a proper power shutdown I think thats its because of an old bios...but i can't determine what MB it is...I have looked all over the MB put no manufactorer or mb-name :-(

The serial-no is 04/28/2000-694X-686A-026LJC39C-00 and I think it might be an Chaintech mb ???

On the side of the PCI-bus it also says m101 300 but it does not help me much.

ANY help would be appreciated

Best regards

All Chaintech boards I know of have their model number printed on the motherboard (or on a white sticker on the motherboard).

Then it cannot be an chaintech board...there is no name og number on the board anywhere....All it says is Year 2000 compliant.

It probably doesn't shut down because it installed as APM, not ACPI, and the APM implementation in XP is broken, IMHO. Check the Power Management section for a little how-to on XP HALs.
Flash your BIOS at your own risk.

Read between the Russian and you will see that one is a CT-6ASA4:
http://216.239.39.100/search?q=cache:mD ... C39C&hl=en

For visual confirmation check the product page:
http://www.chaintech.com.tw/PRODUCTI/ma ... /6ASA4.htm

Chaintech have a habit of mutilating the ID string lately. 2A6LJ is VIA 693/596 or VIA 693/686A chipset, that is how I found the russian page.

I'm not sure this is your board as the latest bios chaintech has is actually OLDER than the one you have now.

Please reply with everything that is written on the bios chip.

Well I don't think that it is this MB especially because of the BIOS-date on my MB is newer.... It is perhaps 6AIA4 because it says

6AIA4-D100A
OTF9326-1 v2.0
04/28/2000 F6D6
257283032
on the AWARD chip

But when I try to upgrade the bios it says

-> The programs file's part number <-
-> does not match with your system !<-
