Need a bios file for 2A69KU99c

Postby georman » Wed Apr 24, 2002 6:01 am

I have a motherboard dispalying the masage "bios checksum wrong" which is meaning the bios file is dead. After I searched your homepage, and I found the link to the MB manufacture http://www.warpsheedinc.com, but the website is dead too,so where can find the bios for this U851 motherboard?
Thanks a lot.

Do you mean "CMOS Checksum Error"? If yes, then replace CMOS backup battery.
If you got "BIOS Checksum Error" and "Award BootBlock BIOS", then search for BIOS.
Patched and tested BIOSes are at http://wims.rainbow-software.org
UniFlash - Flash anything anywhere http://www.uniflash.org

The latest page with info on the U851 was:
http://web.archive.org/web/200003032045 ... nload.html
They did have a 7/1999 BIOS release for the board, but it's totally gone.

They used to have a sister site at www.warpspeedncal.com too, but also gone.

All I have is a beta BIOS with this date:
09/04/1998-i440BX-ITE867-2A69KU99C-00

Wim's site mentions:
03/16/1999-i440BX-ITE867-2A69KU99C-00

Thank you Mr.ajzchips.
You tell me you have a beta version for 2A69KUU9C, and I try to visit your website at http://ajzchips.freeservers.com, but it can not be accessed from my country(GuangDong,CHINA). I don't know why.
Would please email the bios file to georman@21cn.com
or post as a reply of this message at the form?
Maybe you can tell me from where I can download it.
Thank you very much.

Neehau, Georman :)

Before attempting to flash a BIOS, try to solve the problem you currently have (battery, etc.) I'm just warning you because flashing it won't solve the problem.
Once you fix your problem, then I'll send (or link) you the BIOS file.

PS: unfortunately many free webspace providers BLOCK Chinese IPs because of warez, mp3s, etc., especially because of the very "mild" antipiracy legislation in your country. I've lived in Asia for 14 years, so I should know :)
There are a couple of ways to bypass this "problem":
1) Use http://www.megaproxy.com
2) Use http://www.@nonymouse.com
...to access the site.
(Note: megaproxy is a lot faster than @nonymouse)

PS2: http://ajzchips.freeservers.com doesn't contain the information you're looking for.

Hi, Ajzchips.
I'm very glad when I received your reply.
I can tell you I'm a technical repairman I can sure my motherboard can not work because the bios is dead.
I'm interesting in computer hardware. I have enough knowledge and hard tools to repaire the motherborad, and I have external HiLo ALL-03 Uni programmer to flash the bios. Thank you for your kind. Don't warry about me.
I really want you help me.
By the way, I think you are very kind of man, now I can visit your website by means of @nonymouse, though it is not have the information I am looking for ,but I think it maybe helpful in the future.
Thanks.

This looks like Georman knows what he is doing. I sent the beta by email.

Georman: is there a comparison list of motherboard models made by a-trend/a-max/dataexpert?

...and what's with Dataexpert??? For over a year their support pages are erroneously linked from the main page, only accessible through web searches providing direct links.

And, many of their boards haven't been getting BIOS updates for almost 3 to 4 years (i440BX, for example, most stuck with a late 1998 BIOS not recognizing PIII's!!!!).

Intel 440BX M/B, Cyrix All-In-One M/B, VIA APOLLO Pro AGP M/B, ALi Aladdin-V M/B

Not exactly cutting edge technology that is listed on their main page either. Maybe that is an indication too...

Hi, Edwin and ajzchips
Thank all of you for help.
I've wrote a letter, you can know more about what we talk about (This is beyond the topic in this forum ) and I send it to Edwin.
Mr Edwin, Would you help me to forward the email to Mr ajzchips?
Cause I don't have the email address.
Thanks again. :)

There's now a patched bios available for the BX-ATX-1 aka U851 board. What puzzles me is that it isn't mentioned on the download list here:
http://web.archive.org/web/199902210750 ... driver.htm

Local variant maybe?
