Hi folks,

my laptop is from Yakumo. This company is the seller, but unfortunaly I can't found the real manufacture the support from Yakumo is horrible, emails gone to a black hole.
My last idea is the BIOS ID string. But 0002 as Venor i never found...
Here is the complete string:
63-0000-000002-00101111-042903-i845-1ABMQ005-Y2KC
AMI's tool told me also 0002 as vendor.
Did anyone an idea? :?: :(
Thanks, Gerald

Any inscriptions on the motherboard itself? You'll have to remove the keyboard to do so.
Any inscriptions on the bottom sticker of the notebook case?

Sounds like Tyan or Mitac board. Check top surface for any markings at all.

Hi,

my first idea was: do open this thing!
But unfortunality is a warranty sticker glued over one screw.
No chance to open the laptop without void warranty and this part is brandnew and I look for an smart way, like the BIOS string.
Tyan do have an official ID, why don't use it? Mitac i don't know sonds like poorly.
Any ideas? Most low cost products do have a bigger OEM. Medion use in most cases MSI Boards. Vendors for laptop boards don't exist so much like PC-Boards - imho.
The vendor is so interest for me, because I do have some problems with WLAN driver under XP. Intel don't support his product - is OEM and very customer specivic. i found some other bigger trademarks like Sony and HP what have exactly the same WLAN card, but i can't found a bugfree driver. the version number i know from Intel page.
I do run circles :!:

Thanks for your help

Is there a sticker on the back or underside of the case? Why not replace the WLAN card?
Flash your BIOS at your own risk.

What is the exact identification of the LAN adaptor built on the logicboard?

You might be tempted to use a Tyan bios and kill your laptop. MiTAC boards can be found in several HP, Compaq and Dell systems.

Check the entire laptop for type numbers or an FCC ID number.
