Doing all the things I think are appropriate from AMI site, can not find BIOS string. The log in is AMI 1.00.16.AX1 and the motherboard has a Dell sticker with Intel chips. No EPRom appears on board. Ran the AMI utility to determine board make, no luck.

Current HDD is Seagate 2G, want to add 40G Maxtor Ultra ATA/133 as primary. Have done all the jumper combinations and will not recognize the 2nd 40G HDD. Have also tried smaller 8.3G Maxtor ATA/33, still does not recognize as either slave or primary. Setup does not recognize any drive except 2G primary.

Am I dead in the water with current drive?
The Dell board has following info/barcodes:78971A0F2E; AA541274-205; S00065667
