was flashing bios. in middle of flash, the floppy disk died (ugh). have attempted to use the ctrl-home to restore from another floppy but i am not getting any fdd activity.

You need to have your flashrom reprogrammed .
Local computer shop or www.badflash.com or similar services .

I hope your Flashrom is not soldered-in !
