It's Wintac/Edom MP071 board. I can't find BIOS, only jumper settings http://www.xs4all.nl/~elhvb/mboards/edom/txt/MP071.txt

http://www.wimsbios.com/~edwin/downloads/

EDIT: this seems to be the MP071 bios

Found another one:
01/30/97-i430VX-2A59GW0AC-00
MP071B Intel 430 VX / Prime 3B ISA / PCI ( DMI )

mp071b.bin on the same page

You tell me what is going on here...

EDIT: changed this to be the MP071B, from the new information below

Only the MP071B has JP11, JP13, JP14 and JP19. The MP071 and MP071A do not seem to be capable of supporting dual-voltage CPUs.

How can I know the revision of the MB?

One thing I know is that it has two numbers on the board:
MP071
850508

About the jumpers, I have this settings:
JP11 1-2 closed
JP13 All closed
JP14 1-2 closed
JP19 1-2 closed

In the manual it is said that JP11 and JP13 determine Single or Dual Voltage.

Thanks for the information

I have found some hints:

I have found a web page that says Mr BIOS Part # V09AB5LM is for "No name MB: MP071A with LGS 3B"

In http://unisysfederalonline.com/contract/gsas/Support/patches/award_and_ami_winlabs.htm it is said:

"Award and AMI flash upgrade procedures:

The following BIOS for the Manufacturer identified is year 2000 compliant. If your BIOS is not dated as in the following examples then your BIOS should be upgraded.

AWARD 01/30/97-i430VX-2A59GW0AC-00
AMI 51-0611-001379-0010111-071595-82430FX-F

Determine which file you need by booting your computer and observing the configuration screen. It will identify either AMIBIOS System Configuration (MP058) or AWARD Modular BIOS (MP071). Download either the AMI or AWARD BIOS upgrade file to your hard drive."

but it is in a Unisys web page (wasn´t it a Wintec/Edom MB)???

Any clue???

No "A" , "B" or "Rev A" or "Rev B" anywhere?

This is puzzling. The model string points to the MP071B, yet your bios says clearly MP071 in the text string, not MP071B...

What´s the difference between MP071, MP071A and MP071B?
What´s the compatibility (or differences) between their BIOSes?
On wimsbios page "Identifying a motherboard" the following is stated:
· 2A59GW09C-00: WinTec (Edom) MP071
· 2A59GW0AC-00: WinTec (Edom) MP071B
but edwin says "03/13/98-i430VX-2A59GW09C-01 update found on my harddisk for the MP071b" ... :!:

The question is, what file should I use to upgrade 08/20/96-i430VX-2A59GW09C-00 BIOS?

Should I use http://www.wimsbios.com/~edwin/downloads/mp071b.bin with BIOS string 03/13/98-i430VX-2A59GW09C-01,
or should I use http://www.wimsbios.com/~edwin/downloads/mp071.bin with BIOS string 01/30/97-i430VX-2A59GW0AC-00?

Is http://www.wimsbios.com/~edwin/downloads/mp071.bin the same BIOS as the one found at http://unisysfederalonline.com/contract/gsas/Support/patches/award_and_ami_winlabs.htm (the BIOS strings are the same: 01/30/97-i430VX-2A59GW0AC-00)?

Thanks

I apologize if I am asking too much questions ...

This is one of the very few situations where I'd actually suggest the use of a beta bios, of which I have:

11/18/97-i430VX-2A59GW09C-00

Datewise, it's VERY likely to have support for HDDs over 8GB (upto 32GB).

I do remember this beta didn't work properly on my MP071B, so it might be designed for the plain MP071.

ajz:

Does that mean the 08/14/1998-i430VX-2A59GW0AC-00 beta DID work on your MP071B then? That would make sense and put an end to the confusion.

9C = mp071
AC = mp071b
