A7N8X BIOS files

I acquired the above board after a failed BIOS flash attempt. I have an EPROM programmer and flashed the chip externally with the latest file for the board but I get nothing, no POST, etc. Should the downloadable BIOS update work, or is it in a proprietary format?

Downloadable BIOS images are just binary images of the contents of the flash chip. At least for AMI and Award BIOS. What external programmer did you use for programming the flash chip? The POST card just displays 00 (or 88)?

The question comes to mind.. What varient of the board is this? Deluxe, Standard, Compaq/HP (i.e. A7N8X-LA)..
