Thanks to lucske74, who responded to mibla's topic, bios?? --> Aristo AM-639BX-S /A-Trend ATA-N400-CX0, under My motherboard is dead, and left the link
http://mobokive.dyndns.org/Archive/Aristo/Am-639bx/am639bx.htm!
I came across this topic while browsing tonight and followed the link which I scaled back to
http://mobokive.dyndns.org and stored in my favourites, after noticing Aristo in the topic posted.
I managed to find the model in question under Aristo but was unable to find enough information under that site and the PC Partner site to determine differences between the boards that may enable me to determine whether the board is in fact PC Partner or Aristo. And unfortnately there is no link to the Aristo website or an address given to it.
But I am happy because now I know of this site which provides BIOS and information for many Aristo models and other manufacturers, and the site appears to be one I can trust.
The best I like to compare boards with after I have identified a couple of close matches for models like now is to look at a photo that I can zoom in on with detail, and also a list of features.
This investigation basically ended when I downloaded the BIOS from both this site and the PC Partner site, did a DOS FC (File Compare) of the BIN files and found they were using the same file to provide upgrades for, so the boards must be pretty close.
I am hoping to still stumble across an actual Aristo website so I can see if they have a different BIOS file for the board to PC Partner, or at least to get a closer comparison of the model against the physical board.
Anyone with info please keep me posted.
Thanks
