Monitor Issue

Following the advice of a friend i went into my BIOS settings and set them to Auto, Now my monitor wont get signal and anytime, remains black through the whole thing, any ideas on how to fix this? Or am i just better off getting a new chip?

Need more info on the system and what you changed...

CPU - DFI 586IPVG, K6-2/+ 450 (Cyrix MII 433), i430VX, 128MB EDO.
BIOS patched by BiosMan (Jan Steunebrink).
