I did use the fake awdflash.exe on a win98 formatted diskette.
Thank god for that...

I did NOT used the uniflash program, because it didn't saw my BIOS.
I did rename the original awdflash.exe into flash.exe and used that program in DOS (From the flop) and it WORKED!!

Remember: Always, and always keep an Win98 bootflop near you!

I have been now in few weeks tens of times on this same situation.

I have been noticing, that if Uniflash will declare a BIOS chip "unknown",
it may not mean anything, namely, the chip may be

a) fully in good condition and operable, but just not on the
chip list of Uniflash, and thus not recognized
b) just not properly tight enough on the jack, check it from
several different angles and press it, but not too too much ...
c) somehow corrupted and maybe recoverable
d) finally dead

So, don't yet give up ...
