I recently purchased a new HDD Western Digital 40Gb. Present BIOS is Award Modular 4.51PG. Since installing I've had problems and believe maybe upgrade to BIOS is warranted?

From what I've been able to ascertain these are the details:

AWARD ID String: 09/27/2000-VP3-586B-W877-2A5LEP8FC-00
Chipset: VP3-586B-W877 //VIA Apollo VP3 <597>

Any help / suggestions and directions to download correct items would be greatly appreciated.

I've had several errors closing down explorer, one being ddraw.dll and also "unknown".

That BIOS supports your HDD correctly.
Please be specific as to what problems you're experiencing.
