Hello!

I got an e-mail with a support request:

Sombody has trouble with a PCCHIPS M747 V5.0 and a WD800 80GB.

The MoBo has a AMI-Bios. I have no experience with AMI. Is there any information about the support of "big" HDDs by AMI?

Kind regards Jan
for 32 GB+ Bios look here

This is a copy of a PcChips Support e-mail:

Dear customer:

We do not have a list of HDD support. However, all motherboard from
this link might only support up to ~32GB of HDD.

All motherboard from below link should support up to ~137GB:

All new motherboard might support bigger hard driver than 137GB.
However some might only support up to ~137GB.
More than 100,000 BIOS strings in my database just now!

AMI BIOSes from mid-1998 onward usually support large HDDs correctly.
