My BIOS string identifies my pcchips board as a model M-571.
However before i can upgrade the BIOS i need to know the version
number(one of 4).
Can anyone explain how to find this out.

Check the motherboard corner, right next to the keyboard connector. It's printed there.

At this location you'll find the motherboard revision .
If you're not 100%sure about the model number please use the Pcchips Lottery to find out the exact model number especially if you have LAN or Modem OnBoard .
