Phoenix 4Mb Bios right size! Help me, please

Postby max1971 » Wed Feb 15, 2006 3:56 pm

Hello,

i have made some modifications in my laptop Bios using two methods: PBE + prepare and catenate and phnxdeco + prepare and catenate. Now i have two bioses originated from the only and original one that have a size of 515 Kb (but 4Mb are equivalent to 512 Kb and not 515... :!: ), the first (created with PBE + prepare and catenate) has a size of 515 Kb, like the original; the second (created with phnxdeco + prepare and catenate) has a size of 512 Kb 8O . Which is the right one to flash and why is there a 3Kb differences?

Help me, please...

Thank in advance

BIOS files using the WPH extension include platform-dependent information within the file. The PLATFORM.BIN file, which was required with PHLASH.EXE, is no longer used with PHLASH16.EXE. Due to the fact that this information is now included in the BIOS file, it will be larger than 512 KB.
