Updated BIOS, now cant see ANYTHING

Recommended by Wim's BIOS...

Hi there,

I updated my Award Modular Bios from the 2000 to 2001 version because I could not use a 7.5GB WD harddrive and thought this was a good bet. Unfortunately, now I cant see the old 1.5GB drive or even the CDROMs! I had backed up the old BIOS before flashing with UniFlash, so I went back to the old BIOS, but the problem carried over and now I am totally screwed.

Can anyone help?? My old BIOS was 06/08/2000-694X-686A-6A6LJPR9C-00 and has been updated to the 07/xx.2001- version (not sure what the xxs are, sorry). I used UniFlash 1.40 to flash it and I check to make sure my clock generator IC was the correct version (39A), so I'm not really sure what went wrong.
I'm told my BIOS version is AP133AAS13-C950 (thanks KURIAKI!)

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Oh, and I did use Jumper JP4 to wipe out the CMOS data after flashing... no effect.
Also tried disconnecting one HDD and just having the old one in... no effect. Tried same thing with newer HDD... no effect. i'm lost.

A 2000 Bios, especially if it's Award 6.00PG, should nearly alwas be able to support HDD at least up to 128GB. Maybe your system is damaged, either IDE-Controller or IDE-cable.
Try only a CDROM or HDD with jumpers set to Master (CDROM) or Single-Master (WD-drive), connected via 40wire cable or 80-wire cable with correct positions.

Thanks for the quick reply Denniss... I tried just about everything, and then tried what you said... that I should try unplugging everything (PCI boards included, except video of course) and then try plugging in one HDD at a time.. and it worked! With the new BIOS, no less! So happy am I... I proceeded to plug in one thing at a time (CDs first, then NIC card.. etc) and everything starting working...

Well, like I always say... Fricken spoony computers!!!
