I bought an old system with an unknown board to set up as a small server at my home. I want to plug in 128mb RAM and therefor need an update. I have tried awd802 and uniflasher but dont seem to have the correct files

It's Abit SM5-A board. The latest BIOS is "09/08/97-i430VX-Ali5123-2A59GA1FC-4Y" at ftp://ftp.abit.nl/pub/download/bios/sm5-a/sm54y.exe, but the memory problems you have are most probably due to chipset limitation.

I know, but I hoped to put the edo rams into some older machines(486) which run in my home network as workstations for renters(I run a studebt home)

Thanx anyway

First try if the 486 boards work with EDO. Some older 486 boards work only with FPM SIMMs and not the newer EDO.
