Hello Edwin. I too need the 3.14 bios for my Compaq sr1710nx. I went to the HP site and downloaded the A8AE-LE MB BIOS Update (sp26763.exe). What a mistake! My pc would not boot up: "Award Bootclock Bios v 1.0, 2000, BIOS ROM CHECKSUM ERROR....Insert system disk, press enter." I am at a lost here and need the pc up and running. Many thanks!

Send in your board for repair to HP. Bad bios chip. Happens also on these boards.

Follow up on my April 2007 request:

"Have the Compaq Presario SR1830NX with 60->100% constant CPU usage indicated by Process Explorer as a "hardware interrupt".

The condition appeared after downing loading 3.13 Bios and key board fix from HP"

Well the 3.14 Bios took less than 15 minutes to install and the machine is FIXED!

Could someone please send me the 3.14 BIOS for the A8AE-LE? I "upgraded" my Compaq SR1603WM from 3.08 to 3.13 and now the system is pretty much useless. Most of the time, the CPU utilization is at 100% for no reason.

Can I just install UBUNTU 7.04 or insert the BIOS 14 version for this MB? I'm sorry about these basic questions.
Is it a bad BIOS chip?
How did this chip get bad?
Can you explain more about my MB problem so that I can learn from this. Can I send in an order from BIOS CENTRAL for a new BIOS chip or is it a MB repair with HP?
Is this a flash to the BIOS chip?
Is it easier just to get a replacement MB and reuse my PC box and hardware?

you got the unpatched 3.14 on Saturday by email (if your address is valid), so that's a no. As for the patched/teaked version, you are aware it is beta untested material?
